General Contracting 101

I am currently planning to be general contractor for building our family home which is a prefabricated home. THis means, the lot, the septic, well and hydro must be dealt with as well as foundation.

I am with an experienced "builder's mortgage" brokerwho assures me that with a very itemized list of expenses, we can do this.
I am what you might call a non-builder but am confident I can understand the technical aspects of the build.

Am I deluding myself?
