I have installed tile inside, but now I want to tile a 3-season porch that will not be heated. I am going to pour a 6" concrete pad. I would lay the tiles in the concrete, but that would be hard. I would imagine that I have to consider two very important things: tile that can take freezing weather and a tile to concrete mastic that will hold up in freezing weather. I suspect that I will have to lay the tile in the wet concrete. What are your thoughts? Thanks.

Tim:
I am rebuilding a very large shower.
I have used organic adhesive on the walls as you suggested.
The adhesive directions say it is not to be used for the floor.
I am installing ceramic tile on the floor over a large one piece marble floor. I want something very sticky to set the tile in.
Can you suggest something.
Thanks,
Mark

I'm going to replace existing wall tile with a different tile. Is it necessary to remove the sheetrock/backerboard and replace it before installing new tile or can I simply "clean up" the existing sheetrock/backerboard ?

I will install 50 cm x15 cm ceramic tile in my house, but I want to install it in L configuration. I don't know where I must to start. Is a corner a good point to start or I should to start in the middle of room?

I recently had a house built, and we had a new shower installed and that had ceramic tile mounted on the sides of the wall. The builder instead decided to not use the concrete sheetrock first, and just mounted the tile against normal sheetrock. What are my chances that this shower will last without water leaking into the sheetrock?

I am in the middle of tiling a shower. I am using cement backer board and thinset to attach the 4x4 tiles. I am tiling from the TOP down not bottom up. This allows me to very easily set the rows of tiles level. With 4x4 tiles they are light enough that I don't have a problem with them sliding down. There's also a window in the shower wall and going top down makes it a lot easier to tile around the window.

I have a question that my husband and I very much disagree on please help us. I feel that when you start a ceramic floor you are to finish it and my husband thinks that he can start the floor and finish it a week to a month later. I feel that the ceramic can move over night cause we have animals and what if they get in there and walk on the floor and one whole side of the floor is going to be open with nothing holding it into place or maybe even 2 sides not sure. His friends told him that you don't have to lay the whole thing at once that they did it and it turned out just fine. Please help I am tired of this subject between us. I want it done right.
