What size room do you recommend for a two person steam room? or a 4 person
steam room? can you give me an idea of material costs and generator for a
room that size with exterior contols (approximate electrical & plumbing
costs). I understand there are alot of accessories. I just want lighting
and steam fitting in room.

The sizing of the steam generator is critical! They must be a near exact
match to the size of the steam room. The manufacturer usually has written
guidelines.

1) I plan on installing a ceiling mounted kohler rain tile (K-8030). Do
you think steam from a steam bath can enter the wall through the holes or
traim of the faucet (or temp control valves / other faucets / unions /
openings on the wall)? If you think it could enter into the wall cavity,
what do you recommend as a sollution?
2) Is it possible to install a vent in a steam bath?

A minimal amount might get past the gaskets. It is possible to install a
vent in a steam room. It will reduce the steam to be sure.

Patrick,
Anything is possible, but the question is will it harm the tub and WILL the
steam unit be able to handle the extra cubic feet of space. You MUST ask
this question of the mfr of the steam-generation machine.
I just came into a steam room project that already has the cement board
nailed to the studs with no moisture barrier behind it. What can I do now
other than pulling all of the cement board down.

Jason,
You can walk off the job and not do any more work. You can cover the
backerboard with tile and be sued SUCCESSFULLY in a few years since you now
have created a written record that you knew better. You can do lots of
things......but I hope you do the right thing and put a high-quality vapor
barrier on the walls and ceiling off this steam room!

My plumber wants to install the steam unit in a closet on first floor for a
steam shower in the master bath on the second floor (they not exactly lined

Yes the steam room needs a drain. You should have a floor drain in the
basement and if so talk to your local plumbing inspector about all you need
to do to legally drain the steam room.

Hello, Do you know of a website which showcases different custom steam
showers? I am interested to see different configurations of steam shower
set-ups. In particular, custom built seating, etc. I have a very small
space and a standard bench isn't practical. I don't want a pre-fab modular
unit; I will custom-build the space using glass tiles. Do you have
recommendation for website or coffee table book? Thank you!
I have heard that you should not use anything in a shower like marble or
granite, as it will absorb moisture, and will tend to have mold and mildew
problems. Is that true, and does the same apply to a steam shower?

glass wall or not bother. Also is a std vapor type light adequate for the
