Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knew of a company who can work with your existing front door (aluminum in this case) to add glass and comply with hurricane codes (south florida)?

Thanks,

Pete

I am wondering if there is a product out there whereby I can add glass panels to an entry door? The existing door is metal clad door which I would like to insert cutouts to accomodate small windows in the door to brighten up the front of the house.

Gary,
Contact the manufacturer of your steel door to see if they have a kit.

Your discussion for installing stained glass in a raised panel door sounds great. BUT, I have a smooth double door entry with mahogany veneer over a plywood base. Is it wise to install stained glass panels in this type of door?

Jason,
No significant challenges pop up in my head.

I have found a company/franchise called Entrypoint Glass (Entrypointglass.com) that does this. I am awaiting an estimate to see if it is worth it over replacing my 6-panel wooden door with a complete new wood/glass unit.

I have a solid wood door and skylights that are about 20 years old. I can't really afford to replace the whole unit for 3,000 and have found glass that I like for 1,100. Considering the age of the door, do you see any problem in cutting it to put in glass? Right now it only has two very small glass panels in it. I want to make it a full view.
