Can exterior acrylic paint be applied over an oil based stain on t1-11 wood siding? If so what tips would be recommended?

Eddie,
Yes. You need to read all of my Exterior-Painting columns and follow my advice.

I painted my wooden entry door. I removed all the existing paint and applied a coat of exterior primer. I used an exterior latex enamel and let it dry for 48 hours before shutting the door. The door stuck to the frame and ripped paint off the frame. What can I do to avoid this? Thanks.

Tim,
I bought a house that has not been painted in 10-15 years. It's somewhat dirty, some minor peeling but overall pretty good. We power washed and are giving it a light sanding. The body is latex. My paint supplier says I should only do touch up priming (oil base Califoria Problem Solver). I feel I should prime the whole house, I have the time and resources to do so. The siding is red cedar r/r and clapboard. I want to do it right. Your opinion?

thanks, Curt

I have a window sill that the paint is popping off on the edge and another that has a fairly small crack in the paint. I would like to know the best way to correct this. I know I don't want moisture to get inside the wood. Do I just scrape off all I can and prime the spots and then paint them. If so how long do I wait between priming and painting. I want to do it before it gets to cold. Thanks for any and all help.
Phyllis
