Very good article--thanks but I do have two questions.
1. I live in a cold weather climate (Iowa) I know I need a perforated
product--is it even safe from condensation?
2. Would you recommend blowing in chips like in your video or would the
full sheets I see advertised be best.
thank you

Scott,
Perforated or crinkled chips.

on outside block walls, which way does the foil face vs the paper side.
this area in concern is in the master bathroom. the wall has foil paper
existing and has the paper facing to the inside. is this correct?

Bob,
I am somewhat confused by your description, but I will say Yes.

In Dallas, there are a number of companies advertising type of radiant
barrier that sprays onto the underside of the roof. How does that compare
to the foil type you describe.

Andy,
I haven't tested that spray product. My understanding is for the barriers
to work well, there should be an air space on both sides of the barrier.

I put Reflective Foil Insulation in the Google search engine and found a

I'm from TX and I was wondering if it would be effective to put the foil
under the roof and above existing floor insulation? Is floor insulation
even necessary? Would it be advisable to put up insulation under the roof
and then the foil? As you can see we're very concerned about the heat down
here.
Thanks!!!

I have a pyramid hipped roof (with concrete shingles, if that matters).
Since the rafters are all of different length, how will this influence
installation and effectiveness of reflective foil. And is this foil ever
installed on the outside roof?
