Shed Ramps

By Tim Carter
©1993-2008 Tim Carter
Summary: Shed ramps are necessary for almost all sheds that have a wooden floor. It is very common for a shed floor to be six or more inches above the outdoor grade level. Shed ramps can be made from wood or metal. Wood ramps are fairly easy to construct, but they must not be too steep.

It would have been helpful for me if you would have displayed a pic of underside of ramp or pic of frame before applying plywood.

I recently purchased a shed and the builder charged me $150 for building a 4x6 ramp similar to the one in your illustrations, except for the plywood on top is not one whole piece, but 3 pieces put together. He also split the plywood in some places nailing it on. It doesn't look very nice next to me new shed.It also bows in the middle when my 14 yr. old daughter walks on it. I can't visibly see any supports under it. I feel jipped. What do you think?

Tim,
I'm a little confused on the notch cut for the 4x4. Can I get a drawing of this cut?
Thanks

I too am confused about how you notched to 4x4's and how much in order to set them on the 2x4 and add the plywood
