How do I decide where to put my kitchen backsplash when my cabinets run
shorter than the countertop? Do I follow the cabinets or the countertop?
My stove isn't on any of these walls so my backplash is strictly asthetic.

Carla,
You need to ask this question at AsktheDecorator.com.

I am putting 4" x 4" stpne tiles above my kitchen counter for a backsplash.
The wall where the stones will go is currently painted. Will the stones.
adhere to this surface? One guy at Home Depot said yes and another guy said
the stone tiles would eventually fall off. Thanks

Tedd,
It is hard to say since there are possibly different layers of paint. You
have an adhesive chain now and the weakest link will eventually fail. I
would say to do it making sure the paint is clean.

I'm doing 6" tiles, when I get to the inside corner, should I put a spacer
there or butt it to the next one? Also, what size spacers should I use?

Richard,
The grout line in corners is the same size as the regular field tile.

Richard,
If you feel it is necessary to keep the tile from moving until the adhesive
can dry.

I am putting a tile backsplash around a bathroom sink. The problem I have
is part of the countertop is up to a half inch away from the wall. How do I
fill this to be able to place the tiles?

Dale,
I would consider mudding the wall to try to fix this huge mistake.

My wife made me put on stick on tile. Now I took off the tile and there is
a residue of glue still on the wallboard. Will the new mastic be ok over
the glue?
