We recently purchased a home with cabinets that have the KCMA sticker on
the doors. Our problem is that the heat has damaged a white plastic piece
that makes them close and stay shut. I can't find any name on the hinge so
my question is do you know how I can find out the name of the hinges so I
can get replacements? Thank you for your time and any assistance you can
offer.
Sincerely,
Bob Turner

Hi Tim,
My prospective kitchen has white MDF (compressed wood) cabinets. I'm
worried about safety and wheter or not they should be replaced.
Thanks

This is for Bob Turner... I see that you posted back in December of 2007,
but maybe you still need help? We have had the same problem with our
cabinets. The little white plastic piece in the hinge that keeps the door
closed breaks off and the door won't stay closed. We've had our cabinets
for 7 years now, and they've all recently started breaking. We just took
one of the hinges off, ran down to Lowe's, and found an all metal hinge
that was the same size and shape. It fit right into place and has no
plastic parts to break. Good luck!
