I have a direct vent gas fireplace. It was to be a natural gas, but we got a propane unit instead. A technician used a conversion kit to change the unit so that we could use natural gas. It works fine, but, unfortunately, as it burns, it creates a foul smelling odor. Upon talking to the manufacturer, they insisted that it needed to "burn off" and it would be fine. We have tried using it yearly, but the smell is so bad, that we can not continue. Do I have any other options? Could it be
the logs? The technician did not change the logs. Are they different for propane vs gas fireplaces? I would greatly appreciate any help that you can provide.

I noticed a lot of people asking questions about fireplace gas logs on this page, even though the format is for comments and not to get answers.

So, I propose that if you have questions about Gas Logs (not gas fireplaces...they are different), email them to me...or visit www.hansenwholesale.com/fireplace/gaslogs/default.asp to get answer to questions regarding gas fireplace logs.
