Hi Tim,
I recently built an all seasons porch, which means we have insulated the
ceiling, floor, and what little walls we have. This porch is 15'x16' with
five sliding glass doors. Due to the 1/12 pitch we have used metal
roofing. I have noticed condensation build up on the underside of the
metal. The roof has the one res. gable end with no kind of ventilation.
Will I deter condensation if I vapor wrap the entire room, meaning walls
and celing.? Will I stop heat from rising to the metal also by adding a
ceiling material? I'd be abliged by any thoughts on this matter. Thanks
Tim...

Scott,
Read my past columns about Indoor Humidity and Condensation. All of your answers and more are there. Bottom Line: You must stop the problem at its source...... Where is the water coming from?

Hi, how many turbine vents would you reccommend for a 1700 square foot
house with a hip roof on each side and two gables on the front? I have
vented soffits and a ridge cap but I still have water on my nail heads in
my attic. I blew a ton more insulation in last winter but now belive I have
a attic ventalation problems so how many turbine vents should I install in
a 1700 square foot house?

Brandon,
I have multiple columns about the turbine vents and in on of them it has a sizing table that aids you in picking the right size and number.
But you need to also monitor your Indoor Humidity. Read my past columns about that!

I really need some help and hoping someone will give us some ideas...
I have a mobile home with a metal carport cover attached along the side. (the carport is now an enclosed room)
We bought the place 2 years ago and condensation drips inside this enclosed room. It has never been when it is raining, but have since found the entire ceiling has BLACK MOLD. in the insulation and ceiling tiles.
I have since torn out the entire ceiling, all insulation and ceiling tiles. We have scrubbed azll of the mold, but not done anything else.
HOW can I stop this black mold from coming back? How can I prevent condensation with a metal carport roof? It is waivy in design, not just flat metal.
I urgently need help as this is almost 800 sq.ft. of our house, including my sons bedroom is in this addition built under the carport.
We thought the condensation was because of the sun room (95% windows) so we have removed the windows and properly framed in with wood.
Thank you in advance for any assistance.
