Tim,
I have post-war ranch house, which has hardwood floors. The floor creaks
and squeaks with every step I take. I have a full basement, so I have
access to the sub-floor from there. I tried putting shims in some of the
gaps years ago, but it only fixed a couple of the squeaks. Is there a
non-invasive way to fix some of these squeaks? Also, there is a massive
squeak which is hard to get to because there is ductwork below it.
I have kind of gotten used to it, but it would be nice to have a quieter
home.
