I would like to vent my clothes dryer which is in the basement to the roof. The length is approximately 17,18 feet. Is this a recommended length?

That's a great video, Now how do i do this on a steep pitched roof that isn't plywood, It's 5" boards with gaps between them? My house is a 100+ year old two story, two familly.
