A little more "how to" would be helpful for those of us allergic to home
improvement projects.
I can get on the roof and down again, but pulling up the cap shingles makes
me nervous. Do these copper strip just slide under the shingle edges and
stay there? Or, is there more to this?

Tim,
I have seen a lot of those zinc and copper strips in use around the Salem,
Oregon area and they just don't work. But I think it is all about surface
area. If you could put up enough strips to equal the surface area exposed
on that cupola you might have something.
The powder/liquid copper/zinc moss killer works much better until I re-roof
with a copper granular shingle.
Thanks,
Jim
