If you're a new or newer subscriber, this is a pretty special issue.

Every now and then I'm able to provide you with a FUN game that helps you discover some really cool stuff about different products.

Today's one of those days.

I'll bet you thought all dehumidifiers were the same.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

The best comparison I can offer are circular saws.

I just went to Amazon and looked at two saws that appear to be the same.

Both were red in color. Both had electric cords. Both had the same sized blades.

That's where the similarities ended.

The internal parts - the ones that matter - are quite different.

One saw will work for you eight hours a day five days a week for years.

The other saw will probably burn up and melt if you tried to use it continuously for more than an hour.

I know this for a fact because I saw my good friend Marty burn up his circular saw in 30 minutes one day.

The better saw with the better parts that you can depend on costs more.

You'd expect that when you buy anything that's really high quality.

Get a Dehumidifier That WILL WORK

Hurricane Patricia, thought to be the most powerful hurricane in modern times, came ashore in Mexico this past weekend, she soaked Texas and part of the South, she's clawing her way across the Mid-Atlantic and will be at my doorstep here in New Hampshire in 48 hours.

Trillions of gallons of water have fallen from the sky and some is making its way into homes.

Maybe your home.

If you don't get rid of the WATER VAPOR, it will condense on surfaces you can see and can't see and cause MOLD and MILDEW.

You need a fantastic dehumidifier to get rid of up to 155 pints of water per day.

That's like almost 7 pints per HOUR!

Some of those cheap ones will run and run and run and only get a small amount of water out of your home.

How the Game Works

Do you like challenges?

Part of the game is trying to find the page where I clipped a tiny part of a photo.

Some find that quite a challenge!

Then there are the wacky answers I come up with to the questions.

If you're new, you'll see a side of me not seen before.

You may think I need intensive therapy after you stop laughing.

A True Mold Story

opens in a new windowLast week, I featured my 15-Minute Phone Consult.

Yes, you and I can talk on the phone if need be to solve a tough problem at your home.

Lori took advantage of it.

She and her husband Adam had a water pipe burst at their home six months ago.

The water ran for more than a day before they discovered the flood.

Pros were brought in to try to remediate the damage and they didn't do such a great job.

In fact, Lori's house is STILL TORN UP.

In that amount of time, I could have built Lori and Adam a new home from scratch.

To remediate the mold, the pros used great dehumidifiers. They know you need to get the water vapor out of the house FAST.

You may have a damp smelly basement.

The SMELL is MOLD. When the mold spores are shot out of the microscopic mold plants you can't see, it's done with pressurized GAS.

It's plant flatulence.

Just like the odor from animal or human flatulence, mold has its own distinct ODOR.

When you eliminate the water in your home, mold stops growing.

To STOP the mold, you need a great dehumidifier.

Just go play the game.

I'll be back on Friday with a boatload of tips and a touching story about what happened to Kathy and I yesterday.

It was life changing.
