Hi, I'm Tim Carter, Ask the Builder.com

I'm out here in Southern California, and we're going to do a quick repair on a decorative wood roof eve beam that has rotted away
0:15
And I'm going to use a really great product called PC Petrifier
0:20
And what this does, it's a liquid that you have to brush on to the rotted wood
0:25
You let it sit for about 24 hours. Then you can fill any gaps that you have in the wood with a special wood epoxy
0:34
Let's get to work. I've got this epoxy now mixed up. Here's what we're getting ready to do
0:42
If you remember, we started to repair the wood roof eve beam by putting the PC petrifier in it
0:48
And now what we have to do is mix up the special PC woody epoxy
0:52
It's a wonderful, sticky epoxy. It's really full-bodied. and it comes in two parts, a part A and a part B
1:00
and of course they're different colors, and they make them different colors on purpose, so that when you blend the two together
1:06
once the color of what you're mixing is completely uniform, then you know you've mixed it thoroughly
1:12
If they were the same colors, you can see what would happen. It would be a big nightmare. So anyway, I've got it mixed together
1:18
and now it's time to get up on the ladder and to install this epoxy and see how it going to look to fill all those gaps on the wood beam
1:51
You can see how simple it is to apply this wood epoxy
2:05
I ran out, I need to mix up a little bit more, fill up the few remaining holes
2:09
What's going to happen, it takes 24 hours for it to dry. After it dries, you can use 60 grit sandpaper, sand it smooth, paint it, stain, it, whatever
2:18
It's an amazing product. You're going to love PC Woody. I'm Tim Carter, askthebuilder.com
