Good afternoon. I'm to Carter, and this is the Ask the Builder Live stream
0:11
I'm a little tired right now. I've worked pretty hard that the past three hours
0:15
My daughter, my youngest daughters, getting ready to move to California. And all of her stuff, her worldly possessions, we packed into a
0:30
U-Haul small truck, it all fit. That was pretty close. It's a 10-foot truck, and it's always a great game of Tetris, you know
0:41
And it's all in there pretty secure. I've moved enough times to know how to wrap things and pack things and strap them down
0:51
It's a 3,000 mile journey, so, you know, you can't have things jiggling around in the back of that truck
0:57
it's going to be really interesting. I think she's pretty stressed out what you would expect
1:06
She flies out on Saturday but a friend of hers is driving the truck out to California Roco I figured you be here today I was hoping you would be here After all it your idea
1:20
We're going to talk about me and the whole history of me and everything else in just a moment
1:25
I thought I'd wait for some of the stragglers to get here before I started because then they would want to, they'd miss the early parts
1:33
Of course, they can watch it later. Busy weekend. because I needed to get a bunch of work done because I knew that today would be just helping my daughter and try to keep her nerves calm down
1:50
She's a little stressed out, as well as she should be. It's a big, big move for her
1:57
This is the move she'll never forget. I can tell you that right now
2:03
And Saturday will be officially empty nesters. We were empty nesters about three years ago, you know, four years ago
2:13
And then she came back for just a little bit after Puerto Rico
2:20
Let's get started on my story. This hey Josh how you doing Hello Louise Glad you here This was the idea for this live stream came from Roco He here
2:37
Okay, no problem. Well, I'm going to go ahead and just start doing it. You can always pick up
2:42
You know what to do. You can watch this tomorrow. Get the rest of it
2:45
It might be a pretty long story. So I'm going to start talking about kind of like my entire timeline of this whole
2:55
journey I've been on. And it's really kind of interesting all the connections and how there
3:00
was some foreshadowing. And if you have questions about different parts of it as I'm going
3:06
you probably want to ask right at that time. No question is out of bounds. Just go ahead and
3:13
ask anything you want. And I'll answer it. But don't hold back thinking that I might talk
3:19
about it. Hey, Jason. Hello. So I got started. I think the whole foreshadowing part really happened in Boy Scouts
3:33
So I was, you know, you can be a Boy Scout at age 11
3:38
And I was really fascinated with Boy Scouts A really good friend of mine on the street I grew up in Roger Boncutter Roger was two years older than I was and he had been in scouting obviously two years before I did
3:53
He'd come back, tell me all about it, and I just couldn't wait to join. I just thought, oh, I cannot wait
3:59
And it was everything that Roger said it would be. And, you know, I advanced through the ranks pretty
4:03
quickly. You know, you go, you go from tenderfoot to second class, second class to first class. And once you got first class
4:10
then you start earning merit badges to earn the next three ranks, you know, Star Scout, Life, and Eagle
4:16
So I just miss getting Eagle, quite a few reasons, but two of the merit badges that I received
4:23
were home repairs, of all things, and journalism. Those are kind of interesting merit badges
4:32
You know, you don't, you know, they're both interesting. So, so are you kidding me
4:40
syndicated columnist and I turned out to be a builder. So pretty interesting foreshadowing
4:46
I used to do a few little repairs and stuff around my house because my dad was disabled. He
4:52
couldn't do anything. Some of them were just pathetic because I didn't have any training
