Hi, I'm Tim Carter, AskTheBuilder.com. I'm out here in Southern California and I'm going to do a repair job for a friend of mine on his patio
0:11
The person who installed this Mexican tile patio made a big mistake and they had the tiles extend out over the concrete slab below
0:21
And as a result of that, what happened is if you would stand on the edge of some of the tiles, they would snap off
0:27
So to prevent any more damage, I'm going to use a nice angle grinder to go ahead and cut off the excess that is hanging out over the edge
0:38
Let me show you what I'm talking about. Look down here. Okay, you can see right here, I've got a pencil line
0:45
I drew this pencil line, and underneath this tile, that's the edge of the concrete slab
0:49
so I'm going to use an angle grinder with a dry diamond blade to go ahead and cut
0:56
right through here and cut this off it's going to do a magnificent job
1:19
so Okay you can see how easy it is and how powerful this is
1:37
It cuts really fast because this Mexican tile typically is very soft
1:43
It does not take a lot of effort to cut through it. And if you want to cut tighter curves, don't bury as much of the blade into the tile
1:52
The deeper you go into the tile with the blade, the less curvature you're going to have on your cut
1:58
It's that simple. I'm Tim Carter, AskTheBuilder.com. If you want to discover more home improvement tips, go to askthebuilder.com
