Hi, I'm Tim Carter, founder of Ask the Builder.com, and I'm outside here at my own home
0:09
It is the day after St. Patrick's Day, March 18th, 2014. And I just want to give you a little tour and show you what's going on
0:19
It's about 9 degrees. Think about that. It's March 18th, 9 degrees
0:25
And, you know, Old Man Winner, he's like that house party. guest of yours, you know, that follows you around as you clean up, you know, long after everyone
0:37
else has gone home. So I'm trying to show you that it's time for Old Man Winter to go back home
0:44
and go back up north. Check this out. Okay, so these are, these are the, this is the snow at the
0:50
edge of my driveway and, you know, you can see the driveway right here. That pile of snow right there
0:55
right in the center, that's about 52 inches tall. And the snow goes way back here
1:03
I mean, it's very, very deep going down towards the hill. Of course, you're looking down at the lake there
1:10
It's still completely frozen. I haven't gone down on the ice, but I would suspect it's about 20 inches thick
1:17
right there in the center of the frame. 20 inches thick of ice. So let's look around here
1:24
that's my wood pile the snow on top of the wood pile is about four feet deep
1:31
the wood pile of course you know I've got it covered with tarps
1:35
to keep it dry but that's a lot of snow man I gave up trying to keep this parking area clear
1:44
and of course you know as you look up the driveway same thing these piles of snow here that about five feet five and a half feet tall And there just still a lot of snow here
2:00
All right, so let's take a look at the shed that I built
2:04
If you remember, it'll be two years ago this summer. Let's take a look and see how buried it is
2:10
So here's the edge of the driveway. Here's normally where you would walk to the shed. That snow bank there is about 30 inches high
2:18
And there's the shed. You need snow shoes to get to it
2:24
And the snow on top of the roof, oh, if you measure it at a right angle to the roof
2:30
it's probably about 18 inches deep. So lots of snow around here still
2:37
It's a gorgeous day, though. Okay, so that's how much snow we've got still here
2:42
And it's going to be a while before it goes away. If you look at the 10-day forecast right now
2:48
Only a day or two in the 40s, the rest of it in the 30s and nighttime temperatures, you know, down in the 20s and sometimes the teens for 10 more days
2:57
So that's going to push us close to the end of March. I think that a lot of the snow is still going to be here in the middle of April
3:03
That's a month from now. That's crazy. All right. So I hope you enjoyed the video
3:09
And I know, yes, some of you people up north have it a lot worse than we do here. So it is what it is
