Do you know what a backwater valve is? I didn't think so. Let me show you

This is a 4-inch PVC backwater valve made by the OT company, O-A-T-E-Y

Pretty cool. The pretty cool thing. It's for sewage. It's for the sewer in your line

So when you flush your toilet or other water comes, it's coming down the pipe this way

and look at this door right here. It's dark, right? Well, it hits that and it opens up

and then it flows to the sewer septic tank. This is made to service

It's got a big cap that you screw off, all right? And the reason why is you want to be able to easily take this flapper off, notice the silicone seal

You want to make sure it's clean all the time. If you don't do that, the valve can hold open and then, you know, like you can hold open like that, and it won't work

And when the sewer backs up and you don't want sewage to go that direction into your home
