Karen from St. Charles, Illinois, she emailed me
0:03
She wanted to know how in the world to get tree roots out of a sewer line
0:06
Guess what? I've been a master plumber for over four decades. It's really, really simple
0:11
The first thing you need to do is get a tool like this. This is a ship auger. It's a soil auger, whatever you want
0:19
Look at this. What a cool tool, huh? It drills a two in an eighth inch hole
0:24
and it's made out of one inch black iron pipe. You can see the threads. You can take the handle off
0:30
and you can add extensions to go deeper and deeper into the soil
0:35
You have to drill the hole right on top of the sewer pipe, and I show you in my column on my website exactly how to do that
0:42
and how to locate it. So go there and read that column. Then you insert the inch and a half PVC pipe
0:48
pour some copper sulfide crystals down it, and add hot water. Willow, what do you think
0:56
Willow, look at me, what should Karen do? Huh
