Live Streaming Ask the Builder Test November 6, 2021

Hey, YouTubers, are you there

Tim Carter here. I am. The request of my son, he said to start to get back into live streaming

So I am just doing a test to see how YouTube has improved their interface

So I don't even know if you're watching. It could be. There could be nobody there

But I'm going to get a better webcam right now. I'm just using the one I'm looking up at the tiny little hole that's on my iMac

So it's it's a so-so camera. Pretty old technology, almost 12 years old

I have just ordered a new, much, much better camera. Probably have a much better orientation, so I'm not looking up as you see most people do

Anyway, the purpose, what I'm going to try to do is answer questions

Like, you could send in a question to me. And if it's a really good question, even if it's a so-so question, you know, I'll probably try to answer it

And the biggest thing will be trying to get some cutaway shots and maybe draw some drawings so that you can so I can explain it a lot better In other words instead of me just being a talking head

you know, I think that this would work much better if I had some things that you could see

But that's, you know, that's pretty hard not being at the job center, not being at your house. So anyway, we're just going to experiment with it, see what we can do

and see if, you know, see how well, goes over because I would like to I'd like to help you out and I would like to you know see if you

could get some projects done, save some time, save some money. That's always a good thing

And, you know, just answer your questions. It's as simple as that. So I don't see anything

I've got the chat turned on. Looks like we've got, I'm trying to learn this. I'm looking at the

screen. There were eight people now that seems like there's five people watching. That's awesome

If you have the ability to chat and ask me a question, I'd like to see how that works

So I see a chat bar on the right of my screen over here But I got something here like I just going to type I here waiting So anyway so I can see how that shows up

And if you type something, then I'll be able to see what you're putting in the chat

So you can ask me questions live, in other words. We've only got two people watching now

That's okay. Thanks for doing this. This is just completely impromptu. I just decided to see how well YouTube has come along with their live streaming software

It is a lot better than it was two years ago when I last tried it

So I'm up here in my man cave and just trying to learn a little bit more

If you have the ability to chat me a question, that would be great

I would like to see how that part works. So if you could do that, that would be fantastic

And I will, I'll answer your question. You've got a pretty simple one

What's the latest thing I'm working on? A friend of mine, neighbor is building a new home just above me

I was up there at the job site today Pretty amazing He got a fantastic view He building just a fantastic house Pretty big He looks down over Lake Winisquam here in central New Hampshire And there we go Ah this is a test

wonderful. Thanks so much for doing that. Anyway, this gentleman and his wife building a brand new home

it's spectacular. It's going to be a big, big place, and it's got a fantastic view. The weather

today was excellent. Temperature in the upper 40s, crystal clear, blue sky. You could see forever

It was sea over to the Osprey Mountains, see all the way up to the Sandwood Range

see all the way to the Loon Preserve at the end of Windusquam Lake. They're going to have a heck of view

I can tell you that. So anyway, we're going to try to do this live streaming video

I'm going to announce it in my newsletter tomorrow and start to get some questions coming in
