Install Bathroom Ceramic Tile Video #5

Video number five in the series. Wanted

to tell you one other thing before we

get started putting tile up. We're going

to have the vanity here. All right. It's

going to be a 30-inch wide vanity. And

it's kind of silly to put all the tile

behind here, it's a big waste. Um I know

in the future if somebody takes this

vanity out and wants to put a pedestal

sink in, oh well. All right. Hopefully

we'll have enough tile left over for

them if they want to try that. Anyway,

so I've drawn these lines, but here's

what you need to know. We're putting in

the tile this way. I put I tape these

two little pieces up here. So, we're

putting it linear and it's going to be

subway with, you know, the the joint

staggered like brick work. So, we have

to We don't know exactly where this

line's going to be, but I know that it's

going to be close to that. So, what's

going to happen is I'll once I know

where this line is here, where we have

these full tiles coming across, I will

then nail a board or screw a board here

that is level with this so that we can

stack the tile on top of that board. You

can't just put the tile on and hope it

sticks there. Gravity wants to pull it

down. So, I have to have a board here

and we have to do the same thing over

here. eventually when we make the turn.

So, wherever this line will be um we got

to do the same thing right here. And

then this line here represents so when

we put the tile, we want we don't we

want to make sure that the front of the

vanity, you know, covers the tile. So,

it's going to be somewhere out in here.

And also, don't forget about that. You

know, if you ever look at cabinets, the

side of a kitchen cabinet or a base

cabinet, they look like that. Don't make

the mistake and forget about this area.

That's why this line is in so far so

that our tile will end up kind of being

like that. So, we'll make sure that

that'll be covered. So, those are the

things that you need to really think

about. You need to do all this thinking

before you put the tile in or you're

going to get yourself in a bind and

that's not good. All right, video number
