Summary: Beige masking tape is now just one of many job specific tapes on the
market. Each of the colored masking tapes now has a different type of
adhesive that keeps them from adhering
forever to a surface. The tapes are labeled with the optimal amount of time you can leave them in place.

I'seen all the problems with masking tape beiing on too long and hard to
get off. My problen is with my new house I was wanting to mask off some new
drtwall before priming and I can't find any tape that will stick to drywall
and mud. I've cleaned, wiped and done every thing I can think of to get the
tape to stick. Any suggestions?

Shana,
You need to read this column and do this FIRST:

shtml
and then this one:

Once you apply that special paint, the tape will adhere.
