I would love to lay a vinyl tile floor that I have found.. but.. I don't want the floor to go into the next room that already has a vinyl floor.. how do I transition from floor to floor, if carpet is an option.. also, is it OK to have one color tile butt up to another color when two rooms meet without a door??

We laid peel and stick vinyl floor tiles in our kitchen and laundry. some of the seams are now showing extruding adhesive and are lifting. The tile manufacturer recommends using Ados F3 to stick them down. We propose then to seal the whole floor to reinforce all the joints and prevent further adhesive extrusion. Can you comment and recommend a suitable sealer ?

I have had vinyl flooring installed in a basement bathroom over a concrete floor. It has only been in for about six months and the flooring is starting to get grey spots from moisture. The contractor who put it in put down a scratch coat and then glued the vinyl down. My question is is there not a sealer that should have been used before glueing down the vinyl or is there such a product. The contractor has said no and it is not his fault that the product is greying and there is no warranty...Greg

I was wondering if vinyl flooring tiles can be installed on the bathroom walls around the tub? If I use grout to seal them will they stay?

A razor knife alone is not enough to cut VCT. If you do not have a VCT cutter, you will need something to heat the VCT before using a Razor to cut it, a blow dryer will work, a propane torch with low flame will work faster, however make sure not to keep the flame stationary or you will burn/melt the VCT. Move the flame around the tile to warm it. Practice on a couple pieces beforehand.

Cutting,
First mark your VCT where you are going to cut it, warm/heat the tile and quickly place it on the floor and using a straight edge, and razor knife score the tile and bend to break,,, or if the tile is warm enough you can cut right through the tile. If the razor does not score/cut the VCT easily, the tile is not warm enough.

Heat the VCT enough so that it becomes flexible and bendable before cutting.

So we laid the peel and Stick tile in the bathroom. Looked great then noticed slipping of the tiles - what do yo recommend for the tiny lines between some tiles? What type if invisible sealant do you recommend for the entire floor to maintain the integrity of the flooring?

Is it necessary to use sealer on a newly laid VCT floor?

@ Joanne.. If you have a VCT floor then yes you must seal it. The floor ships with a coating but that is not a finish that is meant to be used after installation.

Entryway has old asphalt tile area of 52" by 55" that needs to be replaced. Entryway is high traffic area subject to the occasional appliance & furniture deliveries. The old tile held up quite well for 25 years. What products today will hold up as well? I believe that Vinyl is too delicate.

Hi, I have the same question as James. Can I put vinyl tile on the bathroom wall above the top of the shower stall where it is just dry wall? I was planning on using some vinyl tile adhesive and grouting it to keep water from getting in between tiles. Do you think this would work out OK? Thank you.

The bathroom walls are not parallel or perpendicular with each other.WHERE SOUULD THAT CORRECTION BE MADE AND how would one minimize the odd angle cuts? would you try to correct with the first row or would you treat it like any other floor and correct with last row. Is there any type of tile that cannot be heared/ our biggest problem has been making odd angle cuts. we have a tile cutter but it does not do odd angles.
