100% Acrylic Latex Paint & Primer - Manufacturers

By

Summary: Your paint should be 100% acrylic latex paint matched with a compatible primer if you want superior results. Beware of house paint that is labeled acrylic -- it may have very little. These manufacturers produce the "real" paints.

100 percent Acrylic Latex House Paints and Compatible Primers

Following is a list of 10 manufacturers of 100 percent acrylic exterior house paints. All of them make a compatible primer. These are the paints you must get for a superior painting experience. Do not accept substitutes! Beware of paints that simply state "acrylic" paint on the label. Did you know that a manufacturer can put a small amount of acrylic resin in the paint and then add additional vinyl acetate or other lesser quality resins and STILL call the paint an "Acrylic Paint"? You have to be careful out there.

I power-washed my deck. I want to put on the best, most durable layers of protective coat(s) on the deck to prevent mildew, UV lights, fading, flaking etc.

Will it be best to 1st put on a layer of primer, then stain/paint a couple of layers and lastly a waterproof sealer?

That will be at least 4, 5 layers. It's a lot of work but what's the alternative if I want to get the same kind of durability?

Many Thanks...Mimi

Please advise where i can get 100% acrylic paint to buy in Ghana. Secondary the base of the wall of my house is flaking which i think was because there was a lot of water on the land. What protective paint/treatment should i use first before doing the normal painting.

Thanks

Hello, I put up a pressure treated wood fence in July, this year we would like to prime it before the winter! I would like to know what is the nane of the primer to buy and paint that is 100% acrylic! We were going to go with Behr but were not sure if it is 100% acrylic! It has the primer and paint together!
