Lowes Home Improvement

Summary: Lowe's Home Improvement pops into my head when my regular corner hardware store is closed. It is amazing the different levels of service you get at the two different stores. Pricing is also a surprise. Don't think for a moment that a Lowe's Home Improvement store near you always has the best prices.

Lowe's Home Improvement is the store I visit when I have a home improvement emergency. There is a Lowe's Home Improvement store about two miles from my house. I prefer Lowe's over Home Depot, because the Lowe's store is cleaner and better organized. There may be better Home Depot stores, but they are too far away from my home.

For all of my ordinary home improvement and hardware shopping trips, I go to Silverton True Value Hardware. The owners, Will and Betty, are old-time friends of mine. Their son, Don also works in the store each week. I love shopping at this traditional hardware store, because I can park within 10 feet of the door, and they stock some very unusual items. The store clerks at the Silverton store also are far more knowledgeable than any employee I have ever spoken with at Lowe's.

Here is the Lowe's store near my home. It looks just like the hundreds of other Lowe's stores all across the nation. PHOTO CREDIT: Tim Carter

I go to Lowe's when the Silverton True Value hardware store is closed. I also will visit the Lowe's home improvement store for larger things that Will and Betty do not stock.

Pricing is an interesting point. Often I will get better prices when I go to Will and Betty's smaller hardware store. Having a small business myself, I also prefer to support other small businesses.

There is not a doubt in my mind that the Lowe's home improvement store near my own home is here to stay. But I will continue to drive a little further to visit with Will, Betty and Don. I also feel better when I open my wallet in their store. Try visiting a small hardware store near your home, and see if you experience the same great service I get at mine.

I, along with countless millions of U. S. citizens are very disappointed that some nitwit came out with the term "FAMILY TREE" instead of "CHRISTMAS TREE". It's a good thing that I am not in charge of your personnel because this individual would be terminated and the reason why would so state on their personnel files.

I shall never darken Lowes doorway again and incourage others to do the same.

Prentis,
I do agree with you 150%. I love the Christmas season for a host of reasons, many of which I believe are vital to our social fabric.

You need to know that I am not an employee of Lowes. That should be pretty obvious from my column above. :->

We shopped at the Clovis,NM. store a few months ago and they have the worst coustomer help, bad attitues for a big company than any store I've ever been in. We where there a few months before that 2 purcharse a washer&dryer, then some sheet rock, and insulation. The guys run off and hide, and if u can get them 2 finally help u they are so rude, and don't care how they load your product. They're very disapointing as for customer help. Mrs.Traylor

I am a regular Lowes Commercial customer. I have recently run into a new product that is sub-standard. There is no place on any Lowes websites to leave comments or advise as to the nature of this new product. Any Help?

I would like estimates for a small remodel job. The house is 1362 sq. feet. The entire top floor is one room. I don't know the square feet of that particular room so you will have to do your best guess. Probably 700 sq. feet.
New roof
new drywall in upper level
insulation in attic
insulation in walls
remove vinyl siding paint outdoor
refinish hardwood floors (entire lower level of house)
waterproof basement
insulate basement ceiling
new windows 1 big 6 average 5 piano (northwest term for small upper) 8 basement. Wood windows which open for cleaning from inside
new gas heat
new air conditioner
(Our gas co. will pay for gas conversion if we switch to gas completely.)
new gas stove
new refrigerator
new gas hot water`
Please get back to me with the email provided. Thank you
