That's great when the subfloor is exposed, but I have hardwood in place on 2 levels of flooring.

We will be covering the floor with carpeting, but we are dealing with a wooden floor. Do we have to strip the floor to get to the sub floor or can we just try your idea on the wooden floor? Will it still work>

Dear Mr. Carter:

I would like to replace old carpet into woodfloor for my two bedrooms on second floor. The house is about 40years old. Can this project be done? If so can I do it myself or I should need help from professional installation?
