Current home is modern and as such decorated to match, but I do like the classical designs and hopefully next house can be classical but with modern insulation, hvac, etc. Once had a house built in the 1600's, gorgeous time peace, a frill to work on and miss it, but houses like that are never really ours, more keeping them for the next generation.

Just call me Mr. 1917. I'm a throw-back and live in a house built in 1912, what we used to call a Four-Square (equal dimensions, all sides). The stair in our house probably doesn't even make code today--5/4 treads overhang the risers enough that you have to swing your foot back as you lift it or you'll probably "fall up". You can't get a Queen-size box spring or mattress to the second floor; have to have "split Queen" components or you'll be doing plaster repairs.
