How Do You Connect the Wires?
You can put the wires around the screws as normal or slide them into the clamps on the rear and then tighten the screws. The clamp method is much easier than bending the wires around the screws.
What Happens if the GFCI Malfunctions?
The SmartlockPro® does just that - it LOCKS out. If the circuitry can't provide ground-fault protection, NO electricity will flow through the outlet. It fails in the SAFE MODE.

I have a couple of questions Mr. Tim...why do electricians only say and use one GFCI, I think it is the one closest to the box that the others feed off of. The other question is, how does one tell which is the outlet that feeds the others in a bath or outside?
Funny, I just replaced one in my bathroom where that safety feature kicked in and the outlet didn't work anymore. Didn't realize it was a safety feature. Just mumbled about poor workmanship while replacing it.
