thanks for asking for opinions. I read Speed Queen is the best - back to basics. I don't need music to tell me when the load is done or different settings for darks or towels ...
Look at a Staber. Mfg outside of Columbus Oh. Not aware? google them. We've had one going on 20 years. Simple machine even you could install and repair, which so far not needed. A bit of maintenance unit has zerk fittings on bearings.
PS: could not make entries in your questionaire
PLEASE help me find a washing machine that doesn't take over an hour to wash. I do not need water efficiency, I need energy and time efficiency. What ding bat engineer thinks a 2-hour wash cycle is a good idea??!!!
I am 65 years old. Fifty years ago Maytag was regarded as the best washer and dryer system, families would pass them to their children. Today Maytag is crap. Had so many problems with the W/D set I purchased last year-never again!
top loaders can be difficult to empty for short armed people like us.
Whirlpool dryers have become disappointing. My most recent purchase had 3 breakdowns within the first 6 months of use.
Needless to say, I sold that one at a major loss after the 3rd breakdown, and replaced it with a GE model.
