Crystal Clear Ice in Slovak Mountains
About five years ago, the lake next to my house, Lake Winnisquam, froze almost like this.
The ice was as smooth as you see in this video, but it was thicker and you could see to the bottom.
However, it wasn't as CLEAR as you'll see below. This is simply amazing and must have been weird to walk on it!
Tim shared his and a story about his lake in the January 6, 2015 AsktheBuilder Newsletter.

Thanks for the ice video. Who knew that ice outdoors could freeze so clearly? What a unique phenomenon!

Fellow down here started a bottled water company using a spring bootleggers drew from during prohibition. Water was so clear a float in the spring appeared to be floating on air.
Tim, when I move up there from Georgia soon I want to see a lake like that!
Looks great for ice fishing!
