If you pay too much money up front, you can get RIPPED OFF.
A contractor only deserves money up front in RARE OCCASIONS. Can you guess what they are?

I have had trouble finding any contractors to do the barn work I need. So i found one and told him I wanted a detailed contract. he gave me a contract with no detail but had legal stuff on it and said it was too much trouble. I trusted him as he is assoicated with a charity organization. That was wrong as we battled over what he did and he did not do all he said he would do. On other sorts of jobs, also found that contractors do not want to do detailed contracts claiming they are too much trouble and unnecessary as they do good work. So then it is like go into a contract or a job with no contract and just hope it works out or have no work done at all.
