Ford Lightning EV Towing Test
Ford Lightning EV Towing Test - Disaster Beyond Belief
Electric Vehicles (EVs) don't seem to be ready for prime time when it comes to heavy loads or towing. Watch the video just below.
Are you attracted to EVs thinking you're helping the Earth Ball?
You do realize there's no such thing as Zero Emissions unless your source of charging electricity has nothing whatsoever to do with fossil fuels.
This means you must have your own solar panels or your own micro-hydroelectric power plant. I doubt you do.
Your public utility that your home is connected to either uses fossil fuels or it buys electric from other systems when they can't produce enough.
Don't be bamboozled by all the hype and Social Proof that's in play trying to get you to buy one of these EVs.
Tim. I don’t understand. When I load my petrol vehicle with a trailer, I also get less mileage to a tank as opposed to driving alone. You are correct when you say an EV gets it power from some coal burning power station. However, petrol and diesel has to be refined before it can be used by a vehicle. This is the start of the pollution. The 2nd time it pollutes is when the vehicle is being driven. Therefore using an EV only pollutes once while it’s being used. My take on EV is probably the same as what happened when Mr Daimler and Mr Ford started selling their products to the market.
Why is this such a surprise? Those of us who tow RVs regularly know that our fuel vehicles get substantially lower mileage towing than driving without a tow! Did anyone note that he was towing at 70 mph!!!!! That is sure way to significantly lower your range/fuel mileage. Years ago I towed a 5000 pound RV with a full size 15 passenger van. Around town not towing it got around 15 mpg. Towing at 50 to 55 it got 11 to 12 mpg. On one trip we were really pushing it at 65 to 70 mph. I was shocked to find we got around 6 mpg!
