Juan,
I cover this in a few other articles on this website. Bottom line is you dislodged pieces of sediment in the pipes when you turned the water back on. The faucet aerators are clogged as is the toilet fill valve. Read my past articles to discover how easy it is to solve the issues you have.

I have a 'remeha avanta plus' boiler showing zero on the pressure meter. What do i need to do to sort this out? i think the meter should show about '2' or '1.5'. My toilet has also started to make a loud noise when its flushed. is this related to the same problem?

at times my pressure will just about knock the shower head off and other times it barely trickles out and it is at all outlets not just one or two could the pressure switch itself be going bad or maybe the bladder tank? the system is 7 yrs old and i have the pressure switch set at 50 i dont think the pump is the culprit but i could be wrong but i can go turn it on and its great strong pressure and turn around and turn it on again and it just about stops any ideas ? thanks Dan

When the toilets are flushed or faucets are turned on I lose only cold water pressure. The hot water continues to work fine. What could cause this?

Dan,
None other than to check to make sure that sediment is not the culprit.

Your pressure is dropping because the supply lines are fed by a branch line that is too small. Read all of my columns about water-pressure problems.

This morning I got up brushed my teeth and everything was fine. Approx 15-20 minutes later my husband went to get in the shower and there was a VERY visable drop in water pressure. I checked all of the valves downstairs and outside and don't see anything that would be causing the problem. Any ideas of what I should do or check to determine why the sudden drop in water pressure. Thanks so much for your help.

what is a reasonable water pressure in my house? With no water users on I have 52 psig at my deep sink. With one shower running the water pressure drops to 21 psig. With one shower and one sink running it drops to 14 psig. So what pressure at what load is the question. Thanks for any help. Hap

20 Jan 2008, 14:07
Hap,
You should not be below 30 psi. If you have all or many fixtures demanding water, it would drop below that. I have 85 psi at my own home if that is of interest to you.

Pressure to new sink low. Shut off water at valves under sink for 1-2 days. Ripped out old. Put in new sink, now trickle out of both lines (hot worse). Rest of house fine. Someone said debris in line only supplying the kitchen. How common is that? Any other ideas? Thanks.

Brian,
Go watch this video and watch about halfway into it how I flush the lines of debris:

http://www.askthebuilder.com/How_to_Install_a_Kitchen_Faucet_Video.shtml

So go do that with the supply lines disconnected from the faucet. If you get great flow, this tells you that you clogged the faucet cartridge and/or aerator with debris.

Thanks much for this site/your time! Very educational and helpful.

Our toilet started to lose pressure with every other flush yesterday (one flush fine, next flush weak/non-effective, next flush good, next weak again). This happened after the flap became disconnected and the toilet ran for a few hours before we discovered it. (Possibly related/unrelated: our kitchen sink is directly on the other side of the wall, and the drain pipes off one side of that sink keeps coming uncaulked/unconnected. It was unconnected yesterday when this started. I haven't reset it yet. Perhaps it's throwing the pressure off?)

What's going on? Will this eventually correct itself or is there something I can/should do to get it back on track?

Thanks for whatever you can suggest.

Case,
Flushing issues are not a water-pressure problem *if* the toilet has a traditional gravity-flow tank. If you have a pressure-assist unit, then maybe a piece of sediment is in the fill valve.

I live in a split level house that is 40 years old. The previous owner built the house mainly out of concrete (above, at and below grade is concrete). This makes it a challenge with repairs. The only line that does not have good pressure is the hot water line running to my dishwasher and kitchen sick (same line). Every other line in the house is great. I have replaced the faucet recently and it did not help.

I read in earlier comments that a normal range for water PSI in the home plumbing system is 40-60psi. I also read that your house has 85 psi. What is the maximum that on could go to before you have pipe/system issues (i.e. leaking joints or value leaks)?

The reason I ask is that my system is set at 60psi, but when one faucet is turned on it drops 30 psi and with a 2nd faucet on it drops to 20 psi. The only other factor is that the pressure coming into the house is only 70 psi. Isn't pressure from the street normally higher than this?

I would not go above 90 psi in any situation. You could have pressure issues directly related to pipe sizing.

For the past month, we have had very low HOT water pressure in all showers and sinks in the house. cold water pressure is great everywhere. the local water authority said we have 80psi of pressure coming into the house. called a plumber who said we have very hard water (17g)and need a water softner to improve the water pressure. is that right? could calcium and other deposits in hot water tank and pipes cause hot water pressure problems? thanks.

21 Mar 2008, 08:27
Nina,
There could be a sediment blockage at the hot-water outlet at the top of the heater. It could also be at a valve location if you have one on the hot-water line as it leaves the heater. The blockage could also be on the cold-water line leading into the heater.

Greetings,

I've got a problem with low water pressure in my entire house, which is about 25 years old. I have the water valve that looks like the blue hand-turned one in the first pic of this article and it's turned all the way.

However, there's metal 5-inch cone-like thing with a nut and square bolt at the "point" of the cone, a few inches below the blue valve on the water pipe. I hear that this may be another pressure valve but don't want to touch it because I'm not sure.

There's also a valve in a very small pit in my front yard and that's turned all the way on as well. To make things more strange, I notice that the water pressure improves greatly in the winter.

Any advise is greatly appreciated.

My house is 3 1/2 years old. Ever since we moved in I have low water pressure. I can't run the washer and try to take a shower at the same time because the pressure is low so I have to shut off the washer for awhile. It's like that through my whole house. When my husband and I moved in two pressure switches broke and my husband replaced it and it's been working since then but no change in the water pressure. When I read the gauge it says 68. Should I call the person who installed this?

We just finished our bathroom remodel. However the new tub & shower faucet (Pegasus) doesn't work well -- when we lift the knob on the spout for shower, we have to wait for 1-2 minutes for the water out from the head; meanwhile the spout still has water pouring out until the shower head works fully. We called the factory, but they said it is caused by the low water pressure in our house. But our previous faucet had worked fine before the remodeling. Anyway can solve this problem? Many thanks!

I have low water pressure only for my hot water. It is really dramatic in the master bath and has been this way since I moved in the house last August. The water valves are both fully open and the cold water comes out strong. With the hot you have to get it just right for a reasonable amount of water pressure to come in. However, at times the hot water will disappear completely with the knob complete turned on causing a cold shower.

The kitchen sink is similar, but to a much, much lesser degree. The hot water never disappears. the pressure is just lower than the cold water.

All my faucets, toilets, etc. are experiencing pulsating water when in use. It is not air in the pulsations. I am on well water. My question is; is the problem the result of a lower water level in the well, the submersable pump, the pressure (bladder) tank or perhaps something else?

This is weird. The pressure throughout my house id fine except the kitchen sink. It's OK and then drops off until almost ziltch. You start the dishwasher and it comes back again to full force. I recently changed out my electric water heater for a natural gas one. Both of the water heaters ae the same size, but now that I have changed out the water heaer my water pressure has changed. Now when I try and shower in the basement shower I lose all hot water pressure throughtout the entire house. Also, my cold water pressure is much lower as well. This all changed when I switched out my water heater. The pressure i fine in the first floor as long a I don't have anything on in the basement, but when I turn on the basement water everyhing changes. Is there a device I can attach to my water line, both hot and cold individually or directly after my water meter, to increase the waer pressure thoughout my entire house? I too am having low water pressure everywhere in the house. The water will start off very good, but within about 1 or 2 minutes it drops to about 1/4 the pressure. If I am using a hose (single) in the backyard, its almost impossible to take a shower or use water anywhere else because the pressure is so low. If I turn off the hose, it will stay low everywhere else until all water is turned off for about 15 or 20 minutes - then water pressure will seem normal again when you turn on the water and repeat this pattern.

I do not think its a block in the line, as the pressure would not be high/normal then drop off like that. I do not think its the water softener as the lines outside are not run through that (they are outside that loop) and have the same issue. The main water valve into the house is fully turned on, so I am not sure what the issue could be and was thinking of calling the water company but thought you might have an idea.

Thanks for any help

I recently installed a new water heater in my mother-in-law's double-wide. It's been about 3 months since. Everything was good until about 4 days ago. The kitchen has lost all water pressure to the sink and dishwasher. The water from the faucet dribbles out and the dishwasher gets no water whatsoever. I have checked for blockages and leaks and found neither. All the valves are completely open. The bathroom at the back of the house has excellent pressure, but the the guest bathroom has about 50% pressure. The house is about 20 years old and has never had prssure issues before. What could cause such a drastic change?

I have recently moved into a new flat. The water pressure is low and there is a pump which increases it when the taps/dishwasher are turned on. The problem is that when turning on the shower the pump does not kick in at all. Also the pump will only kick in when the taps are turned on fully in a certain position (the hot and cold both run into one tap). Don't know alot about this so any comments would be appreciated.

Tim,

I live in a 20 year old house and have had great water pressure until about 8 weeks ago. Here is what is happening: when water is fist turned on (ex. sink) the pressure will be very high and within seconds will severely drop off. I had the water company come out to check pressure at the meter which they measured to be 120psi. I do not know the psi in the house. I do not have a pressure regulator in the house, it must be buried. Could it be air in the line or my regulator is going bad?

Thx...Olaf

I live on the first floor of a two-story condominium. The valve that connects both pipes belonging to my upstairs neighbor and mine is outside my front unit. Approximately 4-5 months ago, I had my kitchen remodeled and my sink replaced. I turned off the valve once, for about 5 minutes, during this remodeling. Yesterday, my neighbor said he has very low pressure in his unit and is blaming it on the remodeling and me turning the valve on and off. There is nothing wrong with my pressure. A plumber said there is dirt in the pipes. Could I have caused this or be responsible for his low water pressure?

We have 2 full bathrooms. One bathroom has great water pressure and the other has barely a trickle. Toilet works fine but tub and sink have almost no pressure. It's barely a trickle. What can we do to fix this? Hate to pay a plumber as my husband is a great handy man.

I have just installed a new bath and I have made the connection with the flexi pipes you can buy.

When I turned the water back on, the pipes started to rattle and the water was reduced to a trickle in the kitchen only. Please help.

Right before we started an addition to our home (2 new bdrooms and 1 bath) we found out we had two leaks in our existing house. We had to repipe the whole house, before the repipe; our old shower did not have any hot pressure problem. We were using the old shower even though it didn't have a lot of pressure. This old shower was going to be remodeled so the fix was not postponed. Now that the remodeled is finished, new faucet was installed, everything new; but we still had no hot water pressure, is only in the shower, the hot water in the sink in the same bathroom has pressure, the kitchen sink behind this bathroom has good pressure the new bathroom that was added has no problem. What could have cause this low pressure problem and only in the shower? My next step is to replace the heater; whichi is very old and needs to be replaced but I don't think this will solve the problem. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks!

I have a problem about three days ago I started to notice low water preassure in some areas in my house I called the water service for my area they came and told me that it was the water pressure valve outside my house. well today i changed that valve and I still have low pressure in the downstairs restoom. but no in the kitchen which is almost next to the restroom. I also drain the water heater because, mainly is the hotwater. and I still have that problem.

We just built a new house low water pressure when we turn on the Dish Washer, Children Shower, washer, Hot Tub, the volume is low. We install a frost free fouce 3 feet from the meter turn on all of the above the water pressure at frost free fouce is 21 lbs with all of the above turn of we have 70 pound of pressure. The Utility Distict main line is a 4 inch from the main line to the water meter the utility ran a 1 (one) inch. 2000 feet service line to the water meter. Could the problem be the 1 (one) service line

I checked my shut off valves,so I thought it might be sediment blocking my pipes. Turns out I get water pressure at 4am because my neighborhood grew too big for the cities mainline to support. I urge you to test your pressure at 4am before you attempt anything.

I live way up on a hill. I am hooked up on city water, but i have a pump under the house to get the water into th ehouse pipe system. For about th elast month and a half we have been without water. I have rebuilt the pump, it appears to be fine. I have put in a new pressure tank. I have checked all of the valves (they are all fully open). But, still no water. the pump used to run for a bit and then kick off, then start running again when more water was needed. Occasionally we would loose "prime" and i would have to go under the house and manually "prime" the pump again. Now it seems to work as long as i manually prime the pump but if i stop and let it go on "automatic" then it will work for a few minutes and then cut off...then we loose water shortly after that. I had thought about a pump that just constatly works 100% of the time, but i am afraid taht it may burn out if we loose water pressure. Is there anything that could cause the pump to not work currently? Thanks!

no one has lived in my home for about 2 years and there is low pressure water. I called the water dep and they check the water pressure they said it's fine. the issue is that when I open the water in one sink the water will be really low in the other or in the shower. I can not open two things at a time cos the pressure will be low. as long as I open one at a time, that is the only way it will have normal pressure. can someone help me pls

This article was informative but I am not sure what my issue is. I have had fine water pressure for a few years. My home is about 4yrs old and I am the original owner. All of a sudden about a week or so ago my pressure went extremely low. My valve inside are like the one pictured above and seem to be in the open position. The pipes are running from my waterheater and also I hear a sound as if water is runinng when everything is off also. I live in a condo so I have no idea where to even fine my outside tank. Would I just needeport this to my water company? Any help and information would be appreciated. Thanks

Dear Sir,

I have 2 showers in the house which now both have low pressure lights showing. Both showers have stopped working. The pressure in the kitchen tap is fine and Thames Water advised if this tap is okay then the pressure in the house is wrong and needs to be adjusted. They advised a plumber but I have asked them to do it. What do you advise I do to maximise the pressure.

Thanks.

I have just bought my fifth home but my first to be on well water. It has an older water softner also which I have never had before. The water pressure is so bad only one unit (facet, shower, toilet, etc...) can be on at one time. I know I will not have the same pressure as my city water houses in the past but I have 3 full baths and it does me no good because you can only use one at a time. When only using one unit, water will flows with very little pressure but it will flow. If the toilet is flushed at the same time water flow almost stops. Please let me know what my options are? I don't mind spending some money as long as I will get significant return on the monetary investment.
Thank you for your time,
Sean

I just did a bathroom remodel of my condo and the shower water pressure suddenly has become very low (and the water is not getting hot) after the remodel. The thing that is really strange is it was only a little worse at first and it had gradually gotten worse. The shower used to be extremely temperature sensitive, if I turned the handle a tiny bit too much it would be scalding water, but I could at least always get it to the right temperature before, and the pressure was good. Now it feels like the handle is just possibly too tight and doesn't turn as far as is necessary (when I run the faucet for the tub the pressure is much better and if I try to turn the handle as far as I can it gets hot but only while I'm putting pressure on the handle.) Any thoughts?

In addition to excellent article above:
In my city over 90% of these problems are caused by inline filtration and water softener systems usually near the meter. If you have one of these units, try switching to bypass mode to check street-representative pressure and also check if filter cartridge is due for replacement. By the time water pushes though filter medium, you end up losing most of the pressure. Check sink aerator screens. As for meter problems, screens inside them can sometime get clogged, that's rare but not impossible. Among other causes are many 90 degree bends in the plumbing in your house. Waterflow loses velocity to each of these bends. Note if there are any kinks in the pipe by the meter from accidental tamper leaving the pipe partially pinched. A brief drop in water volume could indicate nearby hydrant flow test or maintenance, possible water main break in the area or a fire requiring heavy water demand. There are other factors, and I doubt we can list them all.

I own a dueplex and have low water pressure on the lower level. I spoke with a contractor and he gave me several options. The first was to do the "release valve" on my water heater and let it run til the water was clear. The second was to check the filter by the water meter.

Do these sound like viable options to start with?

Thanks

Very low water pressure to both showers, flow is good at first but after 15 seconds it drops, turn water off wait just a bit water flow is good then slows, seems like the pipes fill up then empty. My water pressure is fine until I run more than one thing at a time. For instance, my shower pressure is fine until I turn on the washing machine or dishwasher. We had great water pressure but after a house below us in our subdivision had a water main break our pressure has never come back to it's original level. The water dept. came out and said we had great pressure and to check filters on our faucets to make sure they weren't clogged but that was not the issue. Most areas of our house still have normal water pressure but our kitchen and downstairs bathroom have weak pressure. Oddly enough the downstairs bathroom has a 2 sink vanity side by side....on the left is great pressure but the right is very weak? Help!

Wow! This site is fantastic! Just saved me a costly visit by a plumber to fix a faucet with really low water pressure. I'm clueless when it comes to the inner workings of any and all plumbing fixtures in my house and it was soooooo easy to stop by this website, find a fix, and make it work. Within seconds, pressure was back (I cleaned the little screen filter...it was caked with white, chalky residue). Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I just installed a dishwasher in a 60 year old house that previously did not have one. I removed a section of iron pipe and replaced it with a coupling and a tee to connect the water line to the dishwasher. Everything with the dishwasher works great - no leaks - but I have a drop in hot water pressure in the shower on the opposite side of the house. I just replaced my old galvanized pipe to the kitchen with pex pipe. My water pressure was low in the kitchen and I thought it was do to the galvanized rusting out (the house was abandoned for a long time). I am still having presure problems with the pex and am wonding if I kinked the lines making too sharp of turns. I checked the lines and cannot find kinks. I also disconnected the faucet and tested to see if the faucet was clogged, but it is definately some where in the line. Also, are they any tips on using compression taps on pex to run to the refrigerator?

I just bought a fixer-upper in rural Texas. It hasn't been occupied in about 8-10 years. I am on community water...and they say there is no shut off valve at the meter (hence if I or any of my neighbors didn't pay our water bills, they couldn't shut us off - so strange). Anyway, upon entering the house, we found the water turns on (only in the kitchen), however, it slows down within seconds, then stops altogether until we turn if off again for about 30 minutes, then try again...and it repeats said above. My toilet flushes, but it takes about 4 hours for the toilet tank to refill. I haven't been able to locate the cutoff point at the house either. What can the issue be?

I contacted the water company today regarding water pressure in my house. The pressure was 37 pounds. When I flushed the toilet, it dropped to 6 pounds. (We all agreed this is a problem)

What is sufficient water pressure required for a new home? Is 37 pounds good or below average? I heard 55 pounds was good, the water company told me 20 pounds is sufficient

Thanks

We live in the country and live up on a ridge. Our water pressure is horrible no two items will operate at the same time. We've replaced all pipes since this an older home and had galvanized pipes, no help. We are on city water, but they say there is nothing they can do, since we are higer than the water tower that supplies our water. Would a water pressure booster help us and do we have to notify our watet company? A plumber checked our water pressure at the meter and it was 22 Lbs.

Thanks, we have got to do something,

Sue

My husband installed new tap in my kitchen where I already had low water pressure. This new tap made it far worse. It is one that you can pull out the hose to use as a sprayer. The hose itself was a bit too long so he looped it smaller than the palm of my hand where it attaches to the water supply. He says that should not be causing my problem. Is this correct? PLEASE ADVISE.

I've been told by a home improvement store representative that this is caused by a water conservation act that was recently instated. the aerator is clean is a clean as a whistle. when i run cold water full blast and add hot water full blast ( without aerator) pressure is so low-- it doesn't even splash to the counter.

I just bought a house and the water pressure is great on the cold side. But, the hot water has no pressure at all. Can you tell me why this might be?

Hi. We have had fine water pressure until yesterday. Came home and now the pressure is low everywhere. Why would it have all of sudden done that?

Hi. I had an issue with my main pressure valve in that it had gotten corroded. After a panicked phone call I got a plumber over and he was able to stop the leak and replaced the pressure valve. Since then the water pressure through all fixtures in the house has significantly decreased. I know it is related to something that was done in replacing the valve, but I don't know what to check.

I live in a mobile home. The community I live in recently had the city come in & replace much of piping & water meters in the ground. However, since then our meter slowing steadily moves even when no water is on in the house. We have been trying to get the city to fix this problem. However, for the past couple days we have all of a sudden had a problem with the water pressure throughout our home. The water pressure remains low after a few seconds of being on, but will be fine when we first turn the water on. The pressure isn't as bad in the bathroom sink as it is in the tub & shower. If I have water running in the kitchen, it turns to practically no pressure if a toilet is flushed. We have not been able to find any kind of leak in or under our home. What are the things we need to look at and do, especially if we cannot afford a plumber?

I am experiencing low water pressure thoughout my home. The home is 14 years old, and is on a well system. My lawn sprinklers seem to have sufficient pressure, but inside the home does not. If the bath tub is filling, there is very low pressure/flow anywhere else, and particularly in the upstairs bath shower, toilet, and sinks. The pressure gage in the basement (located just inside the wall where the main line enters, indicates 49 psi, and when the pump kicks on, there is still no increase in pressure & flow). Can you suggest any probably areas I can look at to diagnose this problem?
Your time and consideration is appreciated.
Respectfully,

Ellsworth

I have very low pressure after my regulator. At the front hose bid I have 145lbs ( this pre regulator) and after it drops to 35lbs. I can not use any two fixtures at the same time. Also if shower is running and toilet is flushed the flow is only hot at shower. Would adjusting or replacing my regulator help or just a waste of time and money? Are they adjustable? Do they have a life span and if so what is it? Thank you, Steve

We have a well with a pump about 180 feet deep. Our kitchen faucet just started "spitting" yesterday and when it quit, we had rusty brown water. All other faucets are fine, water pressure is fine. Any suggestions?

My water heater is in the basement and the water comes into the house at the basement level. We have had the pressure regulator replaced, and the pressure at the outdoor hose outlets are fine. In addition, as long as we are running only one thing, the water pressure is fine. But as soon as we try to run more than one thing, the water pressure drops significantly. I wonder if we are having such a big problem because the water must be pushed against gravity to all parts of the house? Is so, is there a solution, something like an additional regulator that is placed intermediate in the system?

When water is turned on in house the water pressure slows in other parts of house while in use like the shower. I'm on a community well and when only use one faucet in the house the pressure is fine.

Tim,
My shower/tub water pressure is terrible, it also takes fifteen minutes for it to heat up. the hot water tank is up all the way. My other shower has extremely high water pressure and hot water. I cannot take a bath it is too slow. NO WHERE else in my house has this problem. The house is 5 years old, we just moved in. should I call a plumber?

Bathroom sink is barely pushing any water out. Shower and toilet are fine and so is every other faucet in house. Just 4 days ago, water company had a break in line and we were on boil alert but I don't see how that would do anything.

Kelly,

If there was a water link break, it is possible some dirt got into the line. The strainer on your faucet might have become clogged. Unscrew it and check it for sediment.

I have been having low water pressure in my house. My house is a small log cabin. I use well water. I recently, in the summer, replaced my pressure tank and I had good pressure. Lately, my water pressure has decreased. Any reasons for this? Does my switch maybe need to be adjusted? The pressure is currently set at 50 PSI. Thanks.

For the last 2 days, I have had low water pressure in both of the upstairs bathroom tubs. When I first turn on the water it has good flow of water then it slowly dies down. When we do this the gas hot water heater downstairs starts knocking. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Belinda

We have great pressure in all faucets and toilets downstairs but upstairs we have very poor pressure. This is a problem that has started recently and has never been a problem before. What possibly can be wrong? We've checked all valves and checked all screens and neither one seems to be the problem.

If I flush more than one toilet at the same time I will have near zero pressure anywhere else. My toilet and washing machine share a common wall and if one is use the other will not work including the kitchen dish washer which is approx. 30' away. I have noticed if water is used inside the house the rear outside hose will hardly omit any water. I replaced a new water tank and because it split open I also replaced the main water line into the house. All these problems started approx. three after these replacements. P.S. When this started I noticed what look like sand or diet in the toilet holding tank????????????????????????

My home is about 60 years old, but was gutted & remodeled before I purchased it. All the plumbing is original - but new trims, bathtub, etc. were installed.
Several months ago, the pressure of the hot water ONLY in the shower ONLY dropped for no apparent reason. Recently, it has dropped again, so low that I can't even shower any more in my home. I have checked the house's main shut-off valves and the ball valve on the hot water heater. All fine. The cold is normal in the shower, and the hot is normal everywhere else in the house. -???????

I have lived at my current location for 17 years. About 6 months ago there was a leak in the water line on the city's side. They came out and fixed it but, ever since then I have had horrible water pressure. They have came out several times and checked the pressure at the water meter and things checked okay. They could not check at my house due to I do not have an outside faucet. It will also sound like air in the lines when you turn them on and while using it. Is there something I can do?

Hi, I have s spring water source in my home. It has a pump and a pressure tank on it. At the pressure tank the gauge says 60PSI, and I have a second gauge after the filters and before the water heater. This second gauge drops to 10PSI when a faucet is running or a shower goes on, but fills back up to 60PSI when they are shut off. I have replaced the pressure switch, but the problem persists. HELP!

If I use water anywhere in the house, I have great water pressure, but if I try to use water somewhere else in the house at the same time my water pressure is very low. If I flush a toilet and the shower is turned on, there is no water pressure at all in the shower until the toilet tank fills and the water pressure returns to the shower. Can anyone help. Thanks

My home is 6 years old and has excellent hot water pressure. I woke up one morning and realized that suddenly there was virtually no hot water pressure. There seems to be a trickle coming from the water heater because when you turn on a faucet in the house it flows strong for 5 seconds as the pipes empty and then nothing but a trickle. The water heater seems to be working fine, I was thinking that maybe a piece of sludge broke loose inside it and clogged the out going pipe? What would be the first step in trouble shooting?

I purchased a home built in the 1950's. I have not had good water pressure since I moved here. The county water folks came out when I first moved but supposedly found no problem. I cannot run two water sources at the same time. ex. I can't wash clothes and do dishes,or flush the toilet and do something else. If 2 water sources are going at once MY ALREADY LOW WATER PRESSURE GOES TO ALMOST NONE. 2 days ago i noticed the hose connected to the washer (hot water) has a bubble in it at the end of the hose nearest the turn handle on the sink. I went to replace the hose and it will not come off! I have tried to take it off and so has my father but no luck. Since I the disconnected the hose from the washer, the water pressure is very low. I have noticed having to stand almost under the shower head to get wet while showering, toilet tank seems to fill up slower, the pressure on the sink in which the hose is connected is low and it used to be the one place I had some pressure. After the hose was removed of the washer the pressure went lower to when I bought my home. I did turn off the main water shut valve but turned it back. This and removing the hose from the washer without being able to put on the new hose is the ONLY thing I have done. Please Help I cant figure this out.

Hi,

My shower head has very little pressure but I think it is because half of the water is coming out of the faucet at the same time the shower is on.

How can I ensure that all the water comes out of the shower head.

Thanks,

We are having pressure problems with our bathtub/shower. The two taps (hot and cold) don't provide much pressure, even when first turned on. All other fixtures in the bathroom don't have pressure problems. This is progressed to the point we cannot use this shower/tub. I replaced the shower head, but that's done nothing. It's at the taps, likely, but I don't know what the check. The rest of the house has good to strong pressure. Please help :(
