Tim, my wife and I just spent two days painting our family
room/dinette/kitchen ceiling. We used Valspar's premium ceiling paint and
Wooster (3/8" nap) roller covers costing around $4.50 ea. We also used
Floetrol as an extender (8 oz./gal). The results are not what we
expected/wanted. There's alot of 'patchiness' to the finish. It seems
particular to where we overlapped in order to ensure good coverage so we
wouldn't have the old finish showing. Not sure where we went wrong. The
finish that was on the ceiling (builder applied) was virtually flawless
(sprayed?). We had to repaint because of a leak and subsequent replacement
of a section of the ceiling. Original finish was 7 yrs old and we couldn't
get a good match on the sheen of the paint. Suggestions? Thanks.
