I'm confused...why would you keep the sample in the garage for two years? I would think it would be a better sample if it were left out on the deck, in the sun for the last two years.
Hello Tim your control sample was kept in your garage per your statement at the 1:18 mark. Your right, in the last 12 years, I have had to do my deck 3'xs and a great sealer that can last 5 plus may help. Do you have a control sample that was exposed to weather elements for all seasons?

I can say that I used Benjamin Moore semi-transparent deck stain - and it lasted over 5 years. Stupidly, I read Consumer's Digest and purchased the Home Depot "top-of-the-line" stain and it was peeling by the time autumn rolled around - the SAME year. I am interested in the brand you are recommending!
My deck is mahogany. The deck has been sealed with hardwood deck sealer (Friend lumber).
Will this great sealer work for me on the hardwood?
