Flooded Basement Help

Rein Eisenzopf, who lives where it rains in Woodbridge, VA, has lots of water problems when his sump pump fails.

"When my sump pump fails my basement floods. Would it be advisable or possible to provide an exterior pathway from the low side of the walkout basement drain tile to divert water away from the house and the sump?"

Here's how easy it is to solve Rein's problem - assuming some point on his property is LOWER than the BOTTOM of his basement slab.

Rein, you bet you should be using Mother Nature's gravity to STOP water from getting into your basement.

You can do this with one of my Linear French Drains.

I URGE you to purchase my Linear French Drain Streaming Video and discover how this time-tested system works.

In your case, I'd make sure the drain is quite deep with the bottom of the trench at least as low as the bottom of your basement slab.

Besides being a builder, I'm a college-trained geologist who studied hydrogeology - the science of groundwater. So I have a strong background in what's going on.

What's more, I've solved tens of thousands of wet basements with my system.
