As I grow older, I feel that the 'pocket door' is perfect to reduce the potential issues with standard doors and using a walker/wheelchair in my home.
My current bedroom door is a barn-door style that is easy to open but can't be locked and sometimes sticks in the tracks. I am saving so much space with the barn door rather than a hinge door since there isn't 'swing room' for a traditional hinge door in the bedroom/hallway. If I could have used a pocket door like the one you described, I would have been even happier with the results.
I'm so glad that you are spreading the word about the potential win-win usage of pocket doors.
I’ve got a pocket door in my 1979 house. It has partially jumped off the tracks. Is there a way to repair it without tearing the wall open?
Impressive!
