As you might expect, the Sunday eBlast about the GAF shingle class action lawsuit got some attention. CLICK HERE to get all your questions answered about this serious matter.

I'll do my best in the future to keep you up to date on this and other home improvement class action suits.

I want to Thank You if you were one of the many that responded to my How-To Topic suggestions. I've got a surprise for you below!

Many great ideas came in, but I'd love more!

Remember, if I use your topic in a column, I send you a small bottle of Stain Solver - the wonder Certified organic multipurpose cleaner.

Sherie Anderson is the first winner! I published her topic yesterday - How to Adjust a Bathroom Sink Stopper.

Finally, you may be one asking about my train conductor status and what's happening over the winter.

The train I work on is a seasonal train and is moth-balled right now until mid-May. This means I'm going to be very, very busy the next few months working ahead for you. That way I can take off days to work on the train to get kisses from the women passengers and smiles from the kids.

Did you know I got the reputation last summer as the Kissing Conductor?

Don't worry, Kathy knows all about it and just rolls her eyeballs saying I can get all the kisses on the cheek I want from the old ladies that ride the train.

Hah! The first kiss came from a 28-year-old Italian tourist! 🙂

What I discovered is the combination of the real bow tie and the conductors hat creates very powerful magic. Come ride the train and see if you don't agree.

Concrete in Cold Weather

Overnight I got an email from Curtis Gomes, a remodeler / builder in Providence, RI. He asked a simple question:

"At what temperature is it too cold to pour concrete in sonotubes? 30 degrees?"

I told Curtis my answer would really surprised him. What temperature do you feel it's too cold to pour concrete outdoors?

How To Topics Frustration

I must be doing a bad job.

Why?

You may be one who wanted to know 'how to do something' and I've already answered your question.

Your answer, and thousands like it, are already at my website. I'm not doing a great job of letting you know the information is there.

All you have to do is pound away at my search engine with keyword phrases and pour over the search results.

Here are some folks that responded to my request for How-To Topics and I've provided a link to a past column or video already at AsktheBuilder.com.

Tom Dusing from SD wanted to know how to mount a toilet to a floor.

Len Taylor lives in MD and wants to know how to clean stains on asphalt roof shingles.

Al Lightle wanted to know how to repair a small hole in drywall.

Brooke DiLeone wanted to know how to figure out HOW to hire the BEST CONTRACTOR for a house project.

Boy oh boy what a BAD JOB I've been doing!!!

Brooke, that's what my Contractor Hiring Guides are all about!

Delayed Duluth Trading Winners!

With the bedlam that happened before and during Christmas I found an older To-Do List of mine. Yes, I use them!

Anyway, it appears I FORGOT to notify and announce here in the newsletter the three WINNERS of the Duluth Trading game!

Congrats to:

  • Deane Russell
  • Francis Reilly
  • Thomas Freeman

Each is going to get a sweet DT gift card to buy whatever they want!

Here's ANOTHER REASON why you should play, or at least CLICK THE LINKS, in my games.

Holly Daley, who lives in Temecula, CA, sent this to me two weeks ago:

"In today's news letter, you forgot to mention that all men should be wearing Duluth Trading underwear and Fire Hose pants.

My husband wore them on the plane from CA to Orlando FL and was much more comfortable with them than standard jeans.

We arrived in a heavy rainstorm and he did not get soaked as we got our rental car. I have one very happy husband."

Holly discovered the great things about Duluth Trading clothes that I've known for years by PLAYING THE GAME here in the newsletter!

More stuff for you on Sunday.
