Tim, you might want to mention that people should look for N95 rated dust masks. My experience with lesser masks are that they are worthless for blocking airborne dust. You can sometimes actually see the dust (e.g. if it is a different colour than the mask) on the inside of cheap masks.
Of course, cheap masks are great if you just want to aviod larger pieces of material from getting in your mouth or lungs. Sort of like safety glasses for your eyes, except for your mouth.
