Foam Insulation Floor Joists Part 2 Video

Tim Carter demonstrates how to slide closed-cell foam insulation in between floor joists. You want it snug, but not too snug.

If you cut it too tight, it will cause the floor joists to get out of alignment. A table saw is an excellent tool to cut the foam to the perfect width. Small bits of foam will cover your body and clothes.

Tim Carter demonstrates how to install foam insulation in floor joists for a DIY shed. To prevent the foam from falling out, Carter cut custom support blocks using scrap pieces of treated plywood.

He then built a simple jig that slides over the top of the floor joists to use to ensure the blocks are installed at the correct height.
