Water Pressure Booster Pump for Home

water-pressure-booster-pump

Water pressure booster pump. This is my own pump. It sips energy and boost the 45 PSI well water up to 70 PSI. The pipe on the bottom is the incoming lower-pressure water line. The pipe to the left of the circular water-pressure gauge is the high-pressure line going to all the house fixtures and hose bibs.

Install a Water Pressure Booster Pump for Home Use

I installed a water pressure booster pump in my home years ago. I didn't build my house and my well pump only gets the inside pressure up to 45 pounds per square inch (PSI). I now have invigorating showers and plenty of water coming out of my garden hoses.

What is the Outgoing Pressure?

I have my outgoing water pressure set to 70 PSI. That's plenty of pressure. The incoming pressure was at 45 PSI before I began. That's just above the minimum pressure standard for city water mains.

Is it Hard to Install the Water Pressure Booster Pump?

No, it's not hard at all. It's far easier now as you can use press fittings instead of having to solder all your fittings and ball valves. If you have minimal plumbing skills you can have one installed in less than an hour. I've been a master plumber since 1981 and I'd rate this a 2 out of 10 on the difficulty scale. If you NEED HELP or want me to boost your confidence, I can call you on the phone or do a video call.

Does the Pump have a Check Valve?

Yes, there's a check valve on the incoming water line just before the electric booster pump. Without this check valve, you'd be sending high pressure back into the low pressure side of the system.

Do I Have to Install ByPass Piping?

Yes, you need to install simple by-pass piping. This three-valve setup allows you to take the pump out of the system and go back to the lower water pressure should the pump need to be serviced. Look at this photo of how it's accomplished:

water pressure booster bypass

The speech bubbles and colored arrows tell you all you need to know! If not, get me on the phone.

Where Did You Buy Your Water Pressure Booster Pump?

I got my pump from a fantastic New Hampshire company, Towle & Whitney. Call them and they'll help you decide on the perfect water pressure booster pump for your home.

Live Stream Alert

Today on my LIVE video stream, I'm going to open with a short monologue about a unique chain. You may be thinking of a nice silver or gold one that holds a pendant prize around your neck.

Or, you might think of one that's got thick rusty links used by tow-truck operators to tug cars back to repair shops.

I'm not going to be talking about either of those. Here's a clue about the chain I'm talking about:

peeling paint on brick

After the short monologue, I'll then start to answer any and all questions you might have.

Yes, I will help you for FREE. But maybe money's not an issue for you. You've got plenty, right?

Yesterday's LIVE stream (scroll down and click the rainbow map of the USA) was FILLED with amazing questions and we even discussed one of the causes of the RAGING INFLATION that's eating away at your savings and paycheck.

I also shared a story about how years ago, you could slide $1,000 worth of dollar bills under the Federal Reserve Bank Cincinnati branch teller's portcullis and she/he would slide back to you 1,000 pieces of genuine real 99.9999% pure silver dollars. Do you know why that no longer happens?????

How to Make F250 Ride Smoother

It's Easy & Fast to make a F250 Ride Smoother - Patio Stones!

My Ford F-250 Super Duty 4x4 has a very stiff suspension. An F-250 is a 3/4-ton truck and everything about the chassis is bigger and tougher than its little brother the F-150. The robust front springs installed in 2009 as part of the snow-plow package add to the overall stiffness of the suspension.

Watch this short video above to see how EASY it is to make your F250 or any 3/4-ton pickup truck ride like it's got marshmallows for tires!

How Much Does Each Patio Stone Weigh?

Concrete weighs 150 pounds per cubic foot. Each stone weighs a little over 19.6 pounds.

What Was the Total Weight You Added?

I added, with the 2x10 custom-cut filler material just over 500 pounds. The patio stones alone weigh in at 471 pounds.

How Much Did it Cost to Get a Smoother Ride?

It cost me just a little over $47 in 2021 dollars. Each stone was $1.97 and there's no sales tax in New Hampshire. Why does your state have one? Think about that!!!

Are you Worried about the Stones Moving Around?

No. They're very secure and the heavy rubber mat helps hold them down. In a rollover crash where they might fly out of the truck, one might crash through the rear windshield, but I'm pretty convinced the rubber mat will prevent that from happening. Random things flying through the rear windshield can happen with any heavy item such as a circular saw, a toolbox, or anything you have thrown in the back of your truck. Think about it. Do you throw a net or tie down EVERY loose item in the back of your pickup truck EVERY trip? Why of course you don't.

You and The Fog

A few years ago I read a fascinating book, The Great Crescenta Valley Flood by Art Cobery, while I was visiting a friend in southern California.

Here are the first two sentences of the book's description:

"As Crescenta Valley residents gathered to ring in the 1934 New Year, a cloudburst broke over Southern California's San Gabriel Mountains, unleashing a deluge on mountainsides denuded by recent fires. A roaring wall of rocks, mud and water crashed down the canyons, uprooting trees, tossing boulders and automobiles like toys and carving a path of destruction."

My friend's house was located just hundreds of feet where this historic roaring flood of countless tons of rocks and mud came spewing out of the San Gabriel Mountain canyons.

In the book, the author talks about the fog of complacency. It's a common ailment that afflicts all of us.

In the case of the people in the Crescenta Valley, even though they had built their homes and businesses on top of previous debris-flow alluvial fans below the mountains, they simply put out of their minds the likelihood of mud and rock roaring from the steep canyons skulking just above them a mile or two away.

Out of sight, out of mind, right?

CLICK or TAP HERE to watch a video of me reporting live for TJC-TV just below one of the canyons. I was pointing out the modern-day attempt to protect homes from these wretched debris flows.
Montrose California 1934 debris flow
Let me ask you, do you by chance remember the enormous suffering of millions of people in Texas? Do you remember what happened to them? There was no supply-chain issue back then! How long ago did they suffer? Three, five, or just one year ago?

I'll remind you - tens of thousands of people and businesses had frozen and SPLIT water lines from a spate of unusually cold weather within the past year! Within a day, ALL of the plumbing supplies to make the repairs were SOLD OUT, yet millions still needed to make repairs!

You tend to forget about events like this even if you were affected. I feel us being bombarded each day with information, texts, phone calls, etc. is contributing to the fog.

Why am I bringing this up? Old Man Winter is almost here. The first accumulating snows have already happened in parts of the USA. Are you prepared to survive and fix things if a major storm wreaks havoc at your home? Have you considered buying parts, materials, and things you might need before there's a run on them?

Just do it. Get prepared. Engage your critical-thinking skills and buy the things you'll need to get your home back in shape.

GL as we say in Morse.

Blinc Mouse Trap Review

blinc mouse trap

Blinc Mouse Trap | They work and they work well. Here's one of the POWs that infiltrated my garage and is wanting its freedom and liberty back. Note the smeared peanut butter on the slide-up panel to the right. It's got air holes on one side of the panel so the irresistible aroma of the peanut butter lures the mouse into the trap. Blinc Mouse Trap - Best I've Ever Used

I've tried lots of different mouse traps because mice, unfortunately, are part of just about every house in New England. As winter arrives, these tiny furballs hunt for a place to stay warm and continue to plop out progeny inside your home.

The Blinc mouse trap is the most humane and best one I've ever used. It's ingenious.

How Does the Blinc Mouse Trap Work?

The trap is a simple house that looks just like a miniature subway tube. There's only one way in and the mouse has to walk across the trapdoor to get to the bait. This is a critical part of the design because the trap won't close prematurely as happens with other inferior traps. Once the mouse makes it farther into the tube to get to the bait and is no longer on the trap door, its weight transfers to another flat plate that releases the trap-door latch. In a microsecond, you've got your POW.

blinc mouse trap

This is the trapdoor. It's been set and the mouse can now walk across it. CLICK or TAP HERE to have two of these traps at your home in days.

Does the Trap Hurt the Mouse?

No, the only thing that might happen is if the mouse has a long tail, the tail might get pinched as the trapdoor closes. The mouse is just unhappy and frustrated because it can't escape.

What Do You Use for Bait?

I've had the best luck with peanut butter. You smear some on the slide-up panel at the other end of the tube. You can see it in the photo at the top of the page with the POW mouse.

How Do You Release the Mouse?

The slide-up panel at the end of the tube opposite the trap door is how the mouse walks back to freedom. You just set the trap on the ground wherever you want to release the mouse and pull the panel up. The mouse skitters away exclaiming, "You fool! I'll be back!"

Where's the Best Place to set the Blinc Mouse Trap?

Mice love to walk along walls. They hate to be out in the open. It's best to place the trap along a wall where you think they're in a particular room.

The trap is set along a short wall. I've caught about eight POWs so far at this same spot. They seem to love to come to this end of my garage. CLICK or TAP HERE to get your Blinc Mouse Traps.
